Tent
Alec had the little tent set up in the downstairs playroom at Ashgrove. Joan came in and said 'that's Matts tent you know.'
Alec: "No, it's ours.'
Joan: 'No, we gave it to Matt for his birthday.'
Alec: 'Well anyway we're keeping it.'
The next day at Joans:
Alec: 'Whose wedding dress is that?'
Joan: "It's Kimmy's - I ironed it for Becky to try on.'
Alec: 'Well why is it still here?'
Joan: 'I'm keeping it. You're keeping the tent so I'm keeping the wedding dress.'
Alec: 'It's a deal."

Telephone to Heaven
Thomas answering the phone: 'Dear Heavenly Father, I'm sorry, Hello Fulchers, sometimes I get confused.'
Luckily it was Marion on the phone.

Prayers
Thomas most frequent ending to prayers when he was 8 - 'please do these things, in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.'
Doing jobs
While I was pregnant with Peet I had a broken rib because he was just too big. This led to the other kids doing a lot of jobs around the house.
Alec said to me one day 'it'll be good when the baby is born because then you won't be asking us to do so many jobs'. I assured him I would still be asking him to do jobs. He answered 'yes, but not bending down jobs.'

Jesse
Jesse: "I don't like God.'
Kim: 'Why not'
Jesse: 'I don't like the things he says.'
Petie used to take Jesse out with her and her friends and say 'lets go do coffee with the girls, and Jesse had just heard that she shouldn't drink coffee - of course she only ever had hot chocolate, but she thought the good times were ending.

Jesse
Jesse cut a big gash in her foot and said 'at least I know what's under my skin now -it looks like meat.'
Tom's First Day of School
Joan asked Thomas what he thought of his first day at school -'not really scared - more astonished.'
